3DN is proud to display the works of artists with an intellectual disability whose pieces are featured in some of our resources and publications. We are delighted to have partnerships with several arts and disability organisations. We feature works by artists with an intellectual disability from these organisations throughout our resources and publications.
The artworks portray the depth and variety of the experiences and talents of the artists. They add beauty, depth and personality to our resources, and they present another dimension of intellectual disability. Displaying these artworks promotes the visibility of individuals with an intellectual disability, and the organisations who provide support and opportunities. Some of the artists are part of professional pathway programs that help them achieve careers as professional artists.
Incorporating these artworks falls under our strategic objective 4.5 Develop a program of community awareness of intellectual and developmental disability health and wellbeing. By publishing these artworks we aim to promote the diversity of intellectual disability and of people with an intellectual disability.
Most pieces are available for purchase – contact the organisation listed in the artwork description for more information.
