3DN Art Gallery featuring Artists with an Intellectual Disability Launched

| 15 Sep 2016

We are proud to announce the launch of the 3DN Art Gallery. Professor Julian Trollor revealed the online gallery at the NSW CID annual conference in Sydney on Thursday 15 September 2016. The gallery presents the works of artists with an intellectual disability whose pieces are featured in 3DN’s resources.

We have partnerships with several arts and disability organisations, and are proud to include works by artists with an intellectual disability in many of our publications. Incorporating these artworks falls under our strategic objective 4.5 Develop a program of community awareness of intellectual and developmental disability health and wellbeing. By publishing these artworks we aim to promote the diversity of intellectual disability and of people with an intellectual disability.

The artworks portray the depth and variety of the experiences and talents of the artists. They add beauty, depth and personality to our resources, and they present another dimension of intellectual disability. Displaying these artworks promotes the visibility of individuals with an intellectual disability, and the organisations who provide support and opportunities.
