Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry (3DN)

Can you help make health information accessible for people with intellectual disability? Would you like to talk to 3DN about the accessibility of health-related information?

We are currently running a research project that aims to improve access to health care for people with intellectual disability.

Part of this work is to learn more about the accessibility of health-related information for people with intellectual disability. It also aims to learn about the type information that people with intellectual disability want to access when they experience a health problem, and what makes health-related information accessible to them.

The team would like to hear from people with an intellectual disability and those who have experience supporting a person with intellectual disability.  Participation in the study involves attending a forum and talking with other family members and support people about your experience of the accessibility of health-related resources for the people that you support.

Alternatively, you can choose to talk to a member of the research team either face-to-face or via email, the telephone or video conferencing.

For more details please see our project page https://3dn.unsw.edu.au/project/making-health-information-accessible-people-intellectual-disability where you will find additional information and a participation information sheet.

If you would like more details or would like to register to participate in the study please contact Janelle Weise, Project Officer, on (02) 9931 9160 or DDDN@unsw.edu.au
