Intellectual Disability Mental Health Core Competency Framework Launch and Forum

The Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry (3DN) at UNSW Australia, with funding from MH-Children & Young People, has developed the resource Intellectual Disability Mental Health Core Competency Framework: A Manual for Mental Health Professionals (the ‘Framework’). The Framework describes the specific skills and attributes required by the public mental health workforce to work with people with an intellectual disability.

The Framework will be launched at a forum on 30 March 2016. It will be officially launched by the Hon. Pru Goward, Minister for Mental Health and the forum will include presentations from a range of experts in the field. There is also an optional afternoon workshop.
