3DN welcomes Master by Research and PhD students from various backgrounds to undertake cutting edge research in the area of cognitive disability and health at one of the best Universities in Australia. We are part of the Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health, which is widely reputed as the pre-eminent psychiatric research department in Australia, and one of the leading university psychiatry research groups internationally.

Doing a Master by Research or PhD project with 3DN provides an excellent opportunity for developing outstanding research skills and expertise within the area of cognitive disability and health. We offer supervision from experienced senior research staff, a supportive work atmosphere, regular opportunities for further education including attending conferences, seminars and research skills workshops.

Doing an Honours project at 3DN offers a chance to develop strong research skills supervised by staff who are passionate about research and the development of future researchers.

The Independent Learning Project (ILP) provides UNSW medical students with a hands-on research experience. It typically involves a review of relevant literature, data collection, analysis and presentation. Staff members at 3DN are available to supervise ILPs in the broad areas of cognitive disability and health using various methods including surveys, linked data, interviews and focus groups.
