GPs need more support to reduce unnecessary psychotropic prescribing for people with intellectual disability

In response to a recent study by Sheehan et al in BMJ 2015;351:h4326, 3DN researchers Professor Julian Trollor and Dr Carmela Salomon argue that GPs should be better supported and equipped to prescribe psychotropic medications in people with intellectual disability.
