New publication on current representation of people with intellectual disability in Australian mental health policy

| 03 Apr 2018

This new publication interrogated the current representation of people with intellectual disability and recommended strategies to enhance the inclusion of intellectual disability in mental health policy. A policy analysis framework was developed that included context, stakeholders, process, and content. Results of the analysis show that the mental health of people with intellectual disability is poorly recognized in Australian mental health policy documents and as a result inadequately addressed. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jppi.12239

This publication presents findings of an NHMRC Partnerships for Better Health Project: Improving Mental Health Outcomes of People with Intellectual Disability.
