New research shows mortality rates in people on the autism spectrum twice those of the general population

3DN’s new study shows mortality of people with autism spectrum disorder is twice that of the general population. This Australian first research was conducted by 3DN’s PhD scholar Jane Hwang, Dr Preeyaporn Srasuebkul, Dr Kitty-Rose Foley, Dr Samuel Arnold, and Professor Julian Trollor, and was funded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Living with Autism (Autism CRC). The researchers call for a whole of health and disability systems response to this issue to improve outcomes for this group.
