The Intellectual Disability Mental Health Core Competency Framework: A Manual for Mental Health Professionals (the Framework) has now launched.

This new resource, which was created by the Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry (3DN) at UNSW Australia, with funding from NSW Mental Health – Children & Young People, can be freely downloaded from the 3DN website at http://3dn.unsw.edu.au/idmh-core-competency-framework

The Framework describes the key attributes required by mental health professionals to work with people with an intellectual disability. It was officially launched by the NSW Minister for Mental Health, the Hon. Pru Goward and the UNSW Chair of Intellectual Disability Mental Health, Professor Julian Trollor on 30 March 2016.
